Guatemala Fishing Report 11/21 & 11/22/23 HOT HOT!

HOLA ANGLERS!!
I am behind on my reports, which can only mean I have been fishing non-stop, but here we go.
We have been out for 7 days since the 9th of May and the fishing has been great.  Very far off shore, but great none the less.
Since we were the only boat fishing for the first few days of our charter, we had a lot of exploring to do.  Luckily off shore was where it was some days ago, so we decided to set up shop 40 miles straight out.  Sure enough we were greeting with spinner dolphins that were pushing yellow fin tuna's, and holding lots of sails as well.
This spot had the same results in the same  GPS numbers for the whole week.   All 7 days assured lots of yellow fin (15 plus per boat), watermelon sized tuna's, with a few tuna here and there pushing 40 lbs, lots of sail fish raises (15 plus per day), 1 big 50 lb wahoo on the 2nd to last day, a couple big dorado, and 1 blue marlin on the 2nd to last day as well.  Our 2nd group from Canada was so beat up from the fishing they decided to do a inshore rooster fishing for the last day.
That morning for roosters May 15th, we hooked up with 3 roosters around 25 lbs with live bait along the wave break.  Very good size.  We would have caught more if we got out early as we caught the last hours of high tide (best time to go).
Finally, May 17th & 18th marked the last local bill fish tournament of the season which our team does regularly.  A great chance to test your skills as an angler and get off the helm and fish for once and a while!

I went 10 for 10 in two days for sails.  That put me in the top 5 out of 50 guys.  It was a good time, but same exact GPS numbers as the week before.  Way off shore, straight out.  You really benefit from a fast boat that consumes little fuel.  That's our report!  We still have opening for next season, but we are getting some early birds snagging key dates in Dec, Jan and Feb.  Holler at your Captain for more info!
