Living here year round I can tell you when a fishing report is for real or not.  Meaning if you're not out there, or talking to mates face to face on the docks most of what you read will not always add up.  However, November 15th 2009 release numbers are pretty much at a consistent high.  Meaning 15 to 20 releases per boat.  Much different than last year.  Last year while still be productive, had some unheard of slow months.  Days where just a few sails where raised, yet above average marlin bite made it okay for the most part.  They called it a cycle year.  This year has started out very strong with a noticeable sailfish bite that can't help but get all the charters excited.  Each time while going out for half day charters the productive blue water has been at about 15 miles just about every time if not closer.  Good news.  At the moment you can expect to see releases in the double digits without a doubt.  Some boats are even producing 30 releases with many more sails raised.  All of this action with nice sized Blue Marlin Showing up ever third day, as well as big Dorado is a great day of fishing even for Guatemala.  The bite will get better as the rain continues to burn off and the water gets bluer with more fleets helping in the search.  December for Blue Bayou Sport Fishing is booked for the first time with Fly Fishermen.  Many of which are targeting Blue Marlin.  December is known as one of those months were anything can happen.  Soon we will have pictures and video to follow.  Tight Lines.
